The summer holidays are well and truly under way, with schools all over west London breaking up for the year... But unfortunately the weather doesn't seem to be cooperating!

With a summer wash-out of rain set to hit the capital before the August heat-wave, we've compiled a list of fun activities to do in London indoors. There's no need to be bored when the sun's gone in!

Here are eight fun things to do with children when it's pouring outside:

Go to the theatre

The Lyric Theatre has announced a Little Lyric theatre season, specifically for children to enjoy. Performances include children's classics such as Pinocchio, Puss in Boots and Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Take your children to see a theatre production they will never forget!

The Lyric Theatre, King Street, Lyric Square, Hammersmith, W6 0QL - 020 8741 6850

Go trampolining

London's first ever trampoline park opened on July 20 and looks to be loads of fun!

Oxygen is 27,000sq-ft and offers hour-long freejumping sessions with access to dodgeball courts, air bags, 'walk the wall trampolines' and an obstacle course.

Oxygen also offers family bounce sessions, fitness classes, a professional trampolining academy for aspiring gymnasts, parkour classes, and Teen Takeovers which include two hours of strobe-lit bouncing with a live DJ.

Private rooms for children's parties and PE lessons for schools, and a café area with homemade pizza, make the centre a perfect day out for the whole family.
