Exams are nearly over and soon there will be six weeks of fun to be had when the schools break up for the summer holidays.

Once school's out you'll have to find ways to entertain your little ones but help will be at hand - we'll be putting together guides to get you through the break with lots of ideas and things to do.

But before all that there's definitely one thing you need to know - when the summer school holidays start and finish.

Here are the essential dates for your diary:

London Borough of Hillingdon: Summer term ends on Wednesday (July 22). Autumn term starts on Tuesday September 1.

London Borough of Ealing: Summer term ends on Thursday (July 23). Autumn term starts on Tuesday September 1.

London Borough of Harrow: Summer term ends on Monday (July 20). Autumn term starts on Tuesday September 1.

London Borough of Brent: Summer term ends on Monday (July 20). Autumn term starts on Tuesday September 1.

London Borough of Hounslow: Summer term ends on Monday (July 20). Autumn term starts on Tuesday September 1.

London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham: Summer term ends on Tuesday (July 21). Autumn term starts on Tuesday September 1.

London Borough of Kensington & Chelsea: Summer term ends on Tuesday (July 21). Autumn term starts on Tuesday September 1.

These dates could be subject to change some schools do differ so if you're in doubt it's probably best to check with your child's teachers.
