Neal Ardley has urged his AFC Wimbledon players to get off the mark at Kingsmeadow by securing their first home win of the campaign against Cambridge United tonight.

The Dons were beaten 2-0 by Plymouth Argyle in their opening fixture of the season as Gregg Wylde and Graham Carey both bagged debut goals for the Pilgrims.

Wimbledon followed that loss with another defeat to Cardiff in the League Cup but showed fighting spirit to battle back and secure victory at Crawley Town on Saturday.

Ardley wants his boys to build on that result and begin to turn their home ground into the reliable source of points it proved to be for the majority of the previous term.

He told Dons Player : “We want to be able to fancy ourselves at home. Last season our home record was decent.

Injury doubt: Ade Azeez

“I know we had a blip at the start of this season, but we would like to go on a run and try and get a good home record going. That is going to be crucial to any success that we may have.”

Ade Azeez has been struggling with a knock picked up in the 2-1 comeback triumph against the Red Devils but is expected to shrug off the injury in time to face Richard Money’s boys.

Ardley added: “We have a couple of niggle. Ade Azeez has got a little niggle from Saturday when he did a bit of extra work after the match.

“He has trained today, but has gone to see Stuart Douglas. I will have a look at all the players who have been playing all the games so far. I will also look at how we will be best suited to tomorrow’s game.”

Wimbledon lie in 11th position in the League Two standings going into the match while Cambridge are sitting in sixth having picked up four points from two games.
