AFC Wimbledon are based in Kingston and play in League One. The club was founded in 2002 after Wimbledon FC relocated to Milton Keynes. Starting in the Combined Counties League, they were promoted five times in nine years to reach the Football League and 14 to reach the third tier. They play their home games at Kingsmeadow and their nickname is the Dons.
