Adebayo Azeez hopes lightening can strike twice at Carlisle on Saturday - but with a little less drama

The Dons' striker saved a point for Neal Ardley's side on their last trip to Brunton Park with a last gasp equaliser in a 4-4 draw , sparking euphoria among stalwart Wombles fans.

And while Azeez would welcome a similar outburst of adulation on Saturday he would prefer it to be in response to three points as games like the one last September are not good for the blood pressure.

He said: "I remember just popping up in the box, getting on the end of it, sticking it away and running towards the crowd.

Goal-den boy: Azeez celebrates a goal for the Dons

"But you prefer not to be involved in those games because they involve too many emotions, so hopefully this year we can go up there and get a better and more comfortable result."

Just as on that day almost 12 months ago, the 21-year-old knows he is likely to make a late entry into the drama having fallen down the pecking order among Ardley's attacking options.

The presence of summer arrivals Tom Elliott and Lyle Taylor has meant the former Charlton Athletic youngster has been restricted to four cameo appearances off the bench totalling just 67 minutes so far this term.

He admits it leaves him little time to make his mark and that he'd like to have more minutes, but insists his career is still moving forward under Ardley's guidance.

CLub and country: Azeez in action for England U19s

He said: "It is hard to create that chance when you are coming on for 10 minutes here or 15 minutes there, but I have got to trust the gaffer and I do trust him, so it is about going out there and doing whatever he says.

"Hopefully it pays off and I break into the team soon. I am 21 so just want to play games and keep on learning. Everyday I feel like I am learning and improving."

Being the most northerly outpost in English football, the trip represents the longest journey of Dons' season, though travelling up by train on Friday will reduce the trek to one of about four hours.

Quite long enough you would think, but Azeez has had plenty of practice at surviving such slogs, a loan spell at Torquay a couple of years back having forced him to be a quick learner.

Killing time: Azeez is a fan of US legal drama Suits

For him it will be out with the I-Pad to catch up with his favourite US legal drama and indulge his love of 'Grime' music to kill the time and get him in the zone ready for The Cumbrians.

"I watch a series at the moment called Suits, so I'll have a look at that," he added. "Then I've some Grime which is a mix of garage, hip-hop and R&B to get me fired up for the game."
