A 15-year-old boy has died after being stabbed in Kensal Green.

Metropolitan Police said it was called shortly before 3.30pm on Monday (January 23) by London Ambulance Service (LAS) to the stabbing in Doyle Gardens.

Officers attended and the boy was suffering stab wounds.

He was taken by LAS to hospital where we was later pronounced dead.

His next of kin have been made aware.

There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.

Tributes poured in over social media, a tribute posted on Facebook by Hephzibah Oliver said:

“Another premature death of another youth in our NW10 community. There will be no more laughter, no more jokes nor teasing heard from 15 year old Quamari, who was stabbed earlier this afternoon outside our local School, Capital City Academy, Harlesden. My condolences to the family.”


At 1.30pm today (January 24) the Met Police arrested a 15-year-old boy at an address in South Norbury.

He is currently in custody at a north London police station.

Police make arrest

Police have made an arrest in relation to the murder of a 15-year-old boy, named locally as Quamari Barnes.

Metropolitan police said they arrested a 15-year-old boy at an address in South Norbury at 1.30pm today (January 24).

He is currently in custody at a north London police station, officers said.

Police statement continued

Detective chief inspector Mark Lawson of the of the Homicide and Major Crime Command said:

The area around Doyle Gardens and Uffington Road was very busy at the time of the murder.

A large number of children were going home from school. I would like to hear from them, or their parents, as I’m certain that people will have information that could prove vital to the investigation.

Whilst the motive for this stabbing remains unclear, I would also like to speak with anyone who may have heard about what happened after the attack.

Police statement

The Met Police has released a new statement along with an appeal on the fatal stabbing.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) just before 15:30hrs on Monday, 23 January to reports that a 15-year-old boy had been stabbed in Doyle Gardens, NW10.

Officers attended and found the boy suffering from stab injuries.

He was taken by the LAS to a central London hospital where he died.

Next of kin are aware.

Whilst officers believe they know who the deceased is, they await formal identification.

A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

An incident room has opened under Detective Chief Inspector Mark Lawson of the Homicide and Major Crime Command.

Friends and classmates of the victim, named locally as Quamari Barnes, have left artwork, posters and flags at the scene in tribute to the 15-year-old.

A large Jamaican flag has also been placed alongside a poster of Bob Marley and another poster that says ‘don’t worry be happy’.

Large numbers of flowers have been left outside Capital City Academy in tribute to the 15-year-old victim of the stabbing.

Around 100 school children are gathered at the school gates, many of whom are upset and consoling each other.

School statement

Capital City Academy has released a statement following the fatal stabbing.

A statement from the school said: “It is with overwhelming sadness that Capital City Academy must confirm the sudden death of one of its students on Monday 23rd January.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this very sad time; and also with friends, fellow students and teachers.

“Capital City Academy will be offering a counselling service to students and staff.

“If anyone has any information relating to this tragic event please contact the Police via 101.
