This summer holiday, why not try out something new and join one of two free family fishing days?
On Sunday (July 26) and Sunday (August 9), between 9.30am and 3.30pm, locals can head to Little Britain Lake, Packet Boat Lane, Cowley, where there will be hourly 'introduction to fishing' sessions.
Other free activities, including river dipping, bird box making, face painting and a bouncy castle, will also be on offer.
This year's family fishing event is the council's seventh running, following previous successful years encouraging young anglers to take up the sport.
Registration for fishing is first-come-first-served on the day and all equipment, bait and rod license exemptions will be provided.
Councillor Ray Puddifoot, leader of Hillingdon Council, said: "Family Fishing Fun Days are a great day out for the whole family and I would encourage residents of all ages to come and pick up a fishing rod to discover the joys of this rewarding activity for themselves.
"These events are a unique opportunity to learn from anglers with a wealth of knowledge about fishing, as well as being an excellent reason to spend time at Little Britain Lake, one of the borough's many open spaces."
