Of all the places Chelsea could be when they clinch the Premier League title, nowhere beats being at home at Stamford Bridge.
That's according to Petr Cech who will win his fourth, and almost certainly final, Premier League title with the Blues this Sunday in front of a home crowd providing they beat Alan Pardew's Crystal Palace.
“It's definitely better to win it at home because it's like the icing on the cake,” he said.
“We have a chance to win the trophy on Sunday and it would be the perfect way.”
Having come from behind to collect all three points at Leicester on Wednesday night, Chelsea can be champions by Sunday evening should they beat Palace at Stamford Bridge.
A draw or less, and they may be reliant on Arsenal slipping up at Hull on Monday night or they will have to wait until the arrival of Liverpool the following weekend.
Cech said: “Obviously there are circumstances where you can win it without playing a game, if the other teams don't win.
“But the best way to win the title is when you win you home game and after that you know that you're there.”
Chelsea lifted their first Premier League title ten years ago yesterday (Thursday) at Bolton's Reebok Stadium. Their two subsequent championships came in front of their own fans at Stamford Bridge.
