Before you scrape the ice off your car windscreen this weekend, you may want to check the roads as some are closed for roadworks.

Hounslow, Ealing and Hammersmith are among the affected boroughs, so ensure to check our guide to road closures on the west London roads this weekend, January 14 and 15.

Hounslow

Vicarage Farm Road is closed at the junction of Great West Road in Hounslow to facilitate works.

Motorists are being warned to expect delays in the area during the night, with temporary traffic lights on Great West Road also in operation at the junction.

The works will be in place until January 21.

Also in Hounslow, there may be delays in Wellington Road South.

Delays are possible until Tuesday, January 17

Temporary traffic lights will be in place on Wellington Road South at the junction of Hanworth Road and Nelson Road.

This is to facilitate works to repair a burst water main.

Delays are possible until Tuesday, January 17.

Chiswick

TfL continue to warn of possible delays in both directions on the A406 Gunnersbury Avenue at the junction of Power Road in Chiswick .

It is due to the closure of Power Road for continuing bridge replacement works.

Works began in June 2016 and be completed on Thursday January 4 2018.

Also in Chiswick, there are various closures to facilitate bridge refurbishment works.

There will be various restrictions and closures on Kew Bridge and Kew Road between Strand-on-the-Green and Kew Green due to refurbishment works.

Restrictions will remain in place until April 2.

Ealing

Closures will be in place throughout the night on Saturday and Sunday

There will be lane restrictions on the A4127 Greenford Roundabout clockwise at the junction of the A40 Western Avenue in Ealing.

Restrictions will be in place on the A40 slip roads between around 10pm and 5am each night whilst work to improve the junction is undertaken.

Oldfield Lane South will also be closed during the works.

Hanger Lane Tunnel in Ealing is also subject to closures.

The tunnel will be closed overnight

The eastbound side of the tunnel will be closed overnight from 10pm until 5am, for maintenance works.

A diversion will be in place via the exit/entry slips and the Hanger Lane Roundabout.

Works will be carried out through the night from January 13 until January 14.

Drainage and resurfacing will also affect traffic on Western Avenue in both directions between Hanger Lane Gyratory and Park Royal.

There will be lane closures between 9pm and 5.30am.

Shepherd's bush

Motorists are warned to expect delays during the night as Wood Lane will be closed in both directions at the junction of Ariel Way near Wood Lane station in Shepherd's Bush.

The road will be closed between approximately 9pm and 5am over the weekend whilst works are carried out for the on-going expansion of Westfield.

Knightsbridge

Work continues until April 2019 during the redevelopment of 55 to 91 Knightsbridge .

It is affecting the A4 in Knightsbridge in both directions between Wilton Place and William Street and the westbound bus lane is closed.

Motorists should expect delays in the area.

Motorists should also be warned of further construction activity in the area.

Grosvenor Crescent will be closed

The B310 Grosvenor Crescent will be closed in both directions between Wilton Crescent and Grosvenor Crescent Mews.

Closures will be in place on both January 14 and January 15 due to crane operation.

Hammersmith

Motorists should expect delays on Hammersmith bridge.

The A306 at the bridge has a new weight limit imposed. Due to safety reasons, only one bus can cross the bridge at a time.

Works will continue until Sunday December 31 2017.

Green Park

Constitution Hill, Spur Road and Link Road within St James' Park are closed to facilitate an event.

The Mall is also closed at Marlborough Road.

Motorists are advised that Birdcage Walk is closed eastbound, but open westbound at Buckingham Gate.

The roads will remain closed until Tuesday February 28.

Westminster

Various restrictions will be in place during Cycle Superhighway works

There will be various restrictions in place on Birdcage Walk, Hyde Park Corner, Hyde Park and Lancaster Gate, until March 4.

It is to facilitate works for the Cycle Superhighway which will provide cycle routes from outer to inner London.

Also in Westminster on Sunday, January 15, Harrow Road will be closed at the junction of Edgware Road.

The road will be closed on Sunday

It is to facilitate an art installation.

Hanwell

Expect delays on the A4020 Uxbridge Road in all directions at the junction of Boston Road in Hanwell due to works facilitating a major borough street scheme.

TfL warns of delays until September 1 2017.
