A headteacher’s secretary from Ealing has appeared in court accused of pocketing over £186,000 in term fees from a school.
Valerie Barber, 56, of Glenfield Terrace, is charged with one count of fraud by false representation.
Isleworth Crown Court heard how the defendant was responsible for collecting the annual fees of £19,620 for each child to attend Pembridge Hall School, in Notting Hill.
She is alleged to have siphoned £186,392 by providing her own personal bank account details to parents, rather than the school account, between December 2010 and May 2014.
Barber did not enter a plea to the single fraud allegation she faces and was bailed to appear at Isleworth Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on July 28.
