Uxbridge shoppers may still be celebrating or commiserating over the arrival of Primark and the announcement that sports chain Decathlon would be opening this summer – but there is a new player coming to the High Street.

The fashion retailer Pep and Co is opening its 92nd store in Uxbridge town centre in April, but its location might be a surprise.

Pep and Co will offer women's, kids' and men' clothing at its store in the middle of the existing Poundland store in Uxbridge High Street.

Managing director of the company, Adrian Mountford, said: “We might be a new brand, but we're one that customers love once they find us.

“By bringing Pep and Co to Poundland in Uxbridge, we're giving people access to the brand much more rapidly than we could on our own.

“The combination of Pep and Co's design and style credentials, with pricing that's amazing, will help create a brand new option that helps mums on a budget.”

Pep and Co is expanding rapidly and are planning to open 50 stores inside Poundland stores in just 100 days, the company said.

The company launched in the summer of 2015 and opened 50 standalone stores in its first 50 days.

Uxbridge's branch will open on Friday April 7 and joins the Primark store in High Street which opened on Saturday (March 25).

Last week getwestlondon reported sports chain Decathlon would be replacing the BHS at intu Uxbridge after 15 years.
