Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford looks set to complete his season-long loan move to Middlesbrough today.
Bamford was due to undergo a medical at Boro’s Rockliffe training complex this morning before signing on the dotted line.
The striker was at the Riverside Stadium last week for talks with boss Aitor Karanka, a friend of Blues chief Jose Mourinho, who has already bagged Kenneth Omeruo from the Blues.
"I know how important he would be to us," Karanka said last week. "I want Patrick because his best position is a striker and he can score a lot of goals.
"Last season I think he scored 26 goals, 18 at MK Dons and eight for Derby in 18 games. We need to have players who can score goals.
"Last season we had Adomah as top scorer, and this season I would like to have Adomah with 10 or 12 goals, Kike with 20 and Bamford with 20.
“I would like to take him as soon as possible with me, and he knows that.”
