York City’s Jake Hyde will be full of confidence going into tomorrow’s game with AFC Wimbledon after shooting his way to the top of the club’s scoring charts.

Hyde reached the summit by netting a last-gasp leveller last time out at Plymouth and will be hoping to continue his spree against the Dons on Saturday afternoon.

These two sides have already met three times this season, having been drawn against each other in the FA Cup, with a win each and a draw sandwiched in-between.

Neal Ardley might not need a scouting report but Stuart Martel of the York Press has picked out three players to look out for at Bootham Crescent, with Hyde topping the bill.

Previous encounter: Matt Tubbs and York City's Keith Lowe

He said: “Jake Hyde went top of the scoring charts with his late equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Plymouth on Saturday.

“He was out injured for a while and has been in and out of the side since moving from Barnet in the summer.

“But he’s been back a few weeks now and seems to be hitting form.

“That goal against Plymouth saw him overtake Keith Lowe, a defender who has been outstanding since joining from Cheltenham in the summer, as the club’s top scorer.

“He’s scored four this season from centre-half and is really dangerous from set-pieces and has been great at the back too.

Talented: Josh Carson

“Keith was a big part of Cheltenham reaching the play-offs last year and he’s been pretty solid so far for City.

“Another one to watch would be Josh Carson who was brought to the club from Ipswich. He’s a Northern Ireland international.

“Josh damaged his knee ligaments in March and has only come back into the side recently but already looks to be getting back to his best.

“He is one who always gives you 100 per cent, a great attitude which inspires the whole team around him, and he’s a real bag of tricks too.”
