Charlie Austin was the hat-trick hero as QPR came back from the dead to beat West Bromwich Albion.

The English striker scored all three as Rangers battled back from 2-0 down to record a stunning 3-2 victory at Loftus Road.

Joleon Lescott and Silvestre Varela had given Albion a dream start and Harry Redknapp could hardly believe the Roy of the Rovers script which unfolded.

“Charlie scored the goals and we showed character to come back from two down,” said the R’s manager.

“At 2-1 down at half-time we had a mountain to climb against a team that had conceded less away goals than anyone else in the Premier League.

“But we got the goals we needed. Not many people could have seen that coming.”

QPR return to action on Boxing Day when they travel to the Emirates Stadium to take on Arsenal.
