Chelsea were beaten in the Community Shield at Wembley as Arsenal retained the silverware in the season's traditional curtain raiser.

The Blues were missing Diego Costa through injury and it showed as Loic Remy was caught offside on several occasions.

Arsene Wenger's side took the lead midway through the first half through Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to ruffle the Blues' feathers.

Manager Jose Mourinho brought on Radamel Falcao for the ineffective Remy at half-time to try and make an impact.

Although Chelsea pushed forward in the second half, they were unable to pierce the Gunners' defence.

It left Mourinho an unhappy man at the final whistle as Wenger celebrated success against his rival for the first time in 14 attempts.
