Mark Warburton is confident Jonathan Douglas won't be distracted by the uncertainty over his Brentford future.

The experienced Irishman has been an almost ever-present for the Bees this season, but is in the final six months of his deal at Griffin Park.

Douglas rejected the club's initial contract offer back in October and the two parties have so far failed to reach an agreement.

However, boss Warburton insists the uncertainty over the midfielder's future won't affect his performances.

He said: "It's all been very cordial. The sides are still talking and Dougie just wants to concentrate on his football.

"He's been excellent for us. Dougie wants to focus on what he does best - that's why players have agents."
