Contract talks between Brentford and midfielder Jonathan Douglas have stalled.

The experienced Irishman’s current deal at Griffin Park is due to expire in the summer and Bees chiefs opened negotiations over a new contract back in September.

However, Douglas turned down the club’s initial offer more than a month ago and there has been no further contact since.

The 32-year-old has started every league game this season following promotion from League One and is Brentford’s joint top scorer with three goals.

Douglas has made more than 150 appearances in the red and white stripes since his move from Swindon Town in 2011.
