Police have closed a road in West Drayton on Friday (August 18) afternoon.

Local police have tweeted that Sipson Road and Cherry Lane is closed in both directions.

Transport for London says there has been a collision on Cherry Lane, and the 222 bus is running on a diversion.

'An 89 year old male had been struck by a vehicle'

London Ambulance Service called for police assistance at around 2.20pm following the collision on Cherry Lane in West Drayton.

A spokesman from Hillingdon Police said:

An 89 year old male had been struck by a vehicle.


The patient was taken to St Mary’s suffering from a head injury.


The driver stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their investigation.


The road was closed for around an hour to allow paramedics and police to work.
