The big freeze is set to continue in West London but scattered rain showers will dominate the rest of the week.

Heavy showers are predicted in Hounslow on Wednesday (December 13) but drivers should still take caution as icy roads are expected.

Met Office forecasters predict a cloudy start to the weekend and temperatures may reach -1C during the night on Saturday.

Ice sheets and snowy spells across West London have caused travel problems across the city.

On Sunday (December 10) police officers had to step in after a two-tonne luxury saloon was left stranded in the London sludge.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for ice which will remain in place until 11am on Wednesday (December 13).

Wednesday (December 13)

Heavy showers are expected throughout the afternoon and early evening but temperatures could reach 8C.

Thursday (December 14)

Expect drier spells and cloudy skies in the morning but stronger winds will also take hold across the city.

Friday (December 15)

Bright sunshine is predicted as temperatures dip again and could plummet to 0C overnight and into the weekend.

Saturday (December 16) and Sunday (December 17)

The weekend outlook appears to be bright but cold. On Saturday night sub-zero temperatures may dip as low as -1C - so bring your winter coat.
