Around 21 violent or sexual offences were reported on the streets of Ealing every day in August 2017, new police data reveals.

Latest figures show that 3,223 crimes were reported across the borough within a 31-day period - 667 of these being of a violent or sexual nature.

Data shows there were 198 burglaries and 188 criminal damage and arson offences reported in Ealing in just one month, along with 302 thefts and 907 instances of antisocial behaviour.

Although the overall crime rate has reduced since August 2016 – 167 less than last year's 3,390 – the borough has experienced a 4% increase since August 2015.

Ealing Broadway

Nearly 250 crimes were reported in the Ealing Broadway area in August 2017 - around eight each day.

The road most affected by crime in entire borough is The Broadway, particularly outside the station.

Latest data from the force suggests that 32 out of 246 crimes took place outside the station in August.

Meanwhile, 49 crimes were reported on High Street and the roads surrounding it.

Broughton Road appears to be another crime hotspot, with 10 reported on the small street.

Crimes reported in this neighbourhood include 37 of a violent or sexual nature, 61 instances of antisocial behaviour and 41 of shoplifting.

Southall Broadway

The Southall Broadway neighbourhood experienced less reported crime than Ealing Broadway in August.

Of the 202 recorded, 92 were related to antisocial behaviour and 48 about violent and sexual crime.

Roads most affected by crime were The Broadway and South Road, where 17 and 32 crimes were reported respectively.

The number of crimes reported in August this year was 27 less than the same time last year.

East Acton

Police data reveals that 45 out of the 241 crimes reported in East Acton were violent or sexual offences.

A staggering 30 burglaries took place within the space of a month - nearly one every day.

The most affected road is Victoria Road, outside North Acton station, where 11 crimes were reported.

There was a similar number of crimes committed in August 2016, with 234 being reported last year.

Greenford Broadway

More than 200 crimes were reported in the Greenford Broadway ward during the month.

Of those, 65 crimes reportedly took place in the area surrounding The Broadway and Greenford Road - the two most affected roads in the ward.

Those crimes particularly prevalent are again antisocial behaviour offences, with 72 reported, and sexual and violent offences (35).

There were also 13 reports of criminal damage and arson and seven burglaries.

Northolt Mandeville

Compared to some other wards in Ealing, Northolt Mandeville had a comparatively low 123 crimes reported.

Again, the most affected road appears to be Mandeville Road, directly outside Northolt station.

Five burglaries and 10 other theft offences reportedly took place throughout August.

There were also 41 instances of someone reporting a sexual or violent crime.
