Rayners Lane underground station has been closed whilst police deal with a "serious incident."

The lines were shut at around 9.32am.

Metropolitan Police officer said they are working with other emergency serivices.

British Transport Police has told getwestlondon that the victim was a 63-year-old man and that his next of kin have been informed.

The death is being treated as non-suspicious and coroners are expected to open an inquest soon.

We’ve had an update today from North London Coroners Court.

The victim was a man in his early-60s, and his death is being treated as non-suspicious.

British Transport Police are still investigating the incident and the inquest has not yet been opened.

A good service has resumed on both Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines and Rayners Lane station has fully reopened.

Metropolitan Line delays

Delays have extended to the whole length of the Metropolitan Line.

There are still severe delays between Uxbridge and Rayners Lane, with minor delays from Wembley Park to Aldgate.

Tickets are being accepted on buses.

Rayners Lane station is now fully open.

There are severe delays between Uxbridge and Harrow-on-the-Hill on the Metropolitan lines.

On the Piccadilly line there are severe delays between Uxbridge and Rayners Lane, and minor delays between Rayners Lane and Acton.

Person has died on the scene

British Transport Police has confirmed that a person has died after being struck by a train at Rayners Lane station.

The incident took place at around 9.30am, and police officers and paramedics are in attendance.

The force says tehy are working to inform the next of kin.

No service of Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines

Both the Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines have been affected by the incident at Rayners lane.

On the Metropolitan line there is no service between Uxbridge and Harrow on the Hill.

On the Piccadilly line there is no service between Uxbridge and South Harrow.
