The person killed after being struck by a train at Rayners Lane was a 63-year-old man, a coroner's court has confirmed.

Formal identification awaits and the inquest into his death has not yet begun.

British Transport Police is treating his death as non-suspicious and his next of kin have been informed.

The incident happened on Tuesday May 23 at around 9.30am when the man was hit by a tube train.

Metropolitan Police , British Transport Police , London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service all attended, however the man died at the scene.

The station was closed for just more than an hour and services on the Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines were affected for several hours.
