Ealing honoured the armed forces on Sunday (November 8) during the Remembrance Day service at Ealing War Memorial.

The Mayor of Ealing, Councillor Harbhajan Kaur Dheer, joined local councillors and members of the armed forces at the Ealing War Memorial on Ealing Green for a two-minute silence from 11am.

A parade from Manor Park through Southall also took place, finishing at the Southall War Memorial on The Green for the 11am service.

Leader of Ealing Council , Cllr Julian Bell , who attended the service said: “I never fail to be struck by the stories I’ve heard and read about the people from our borough who served in the wars and those who lost their lives; it brings the reality of those events to the front of your mind.

"Our memorials are much more than just a list on a block of stone. They are a lasting reminder of the human face of war and the sacrifices made.”
