A 16-year-old has been charged with the murder of Omid Saidy, who was stabbed to death in Parsons Green on Monday night (October 16).

The teenager will appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (October 19), facing charges of murder and possession of a pointed or bladed article.

Police said on Tuesday (October 17) that 20-year-old Mr Saidy died after confronting a suspected drug dealer.

His post-mortem examination was expected to take place on Wednesday.

Police were called to the scene shortly after 7.30pm, with Mr Saidy, who lived in Fulham, pronounced dead in Parsons Green Lane at 8.30pm.

Two other males, aged 18 and 16, also suffered stab wounds and were taken to a hospital in west London.

Detective Chief Inspector Noel McHugh, from the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: “We continue to piece together a picture of how the sequence of events... took place.

“It is imperative that we speak to anyone who was in the area of Parsons Green station between 7pm and 8pm who may have witnessed [what happened].

“In addition, I am keen to identify the black male who fled Parsons Green Lane... and am appealing for footage that members of the public may have recorded as events in the area took place.

“Although we have charged a male with Omid’s murder, this is still a live and ongoing investigation.”
