Police believe the man who died in a triple stabbing in Parsons Green on Monday night (October 16) was confronting a drug dealer.

Officers have named the victim as 20-year-old Omid Saidy, from Fulham.

He was one of three men stabbed outside Parsons Green Tube station and died at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed and he has been formally identified.

A post-mortem examination is expected to take place on Wednesday (October 18).

Police were called to the scene shortly after 7.30pm, with Mr Saidy pronounced dead in Parsons Green Lane at 8.30pm.

The two other males who suffered stab wounds, aged 20 and 16, were taken to a hospital in west London.

The teenager has been discharged from hospital and arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.

He was taken to a west London police station where he remained on Tuesday night.

Omid Saidy was stabbed to death in Parsons Green on Monday October 16

The 20-year-old man is in hospital, with injuries described as serious but not life-threatening.

Detectives believe Mr Saidy had confronted a drug dealer and another male who was with him.

Police said the victim then chased the pair in the direction of Beconsfield Walk and was fatally stabbed when he caught up with them.

The 20-year-old still in hospital was friends with Mr Saidy, and arrived on a moped in Beconsfield Walk to help.

The moped was also involved in a collision with a parked car.

One of the suspects, described as a black male dressed in dark clothing, fled down Harbled Road in the direction of Fulham Court.

The second suspect, a white male youth, ran along Beconsfield Walk. It is understood that a short time later he called for an ambulance in Munster Road to take him to hospital.

Detective Chief Inspector Noel McHugh, of the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC), said: “At this early stage we are piecing together a picture of how the sequence of events leading to and immediately following the murder took place.

“It is imperative that we speak to anyone who was in the area of Parsons Green station between 7pm and 8pm who may have witnessed the murder or the actions of the suspects immediately following the incident.

“In addition, I am keen to identify the black male who fled Parsons Green Lane immediately following the murder and am appealing for footage that members of the public may have recorded as events in the area took place."

Parsons Green Lane remained closed at the junction with Fulham Road on Tuesday (October 17)

DCI McHugh continued: “A young man has tragically lost his life for simply asking a drug dealer to move on.

"I urge anyone who can assist our investigation to come forward without delay.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident or is in possession of relevant mobile phone footage should contact the HMCC on the incident room number, 020 8785 8099. To remain anonymous, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
