There was a large police presence in Walham Grove in Fulham throughout Tuesday (December 6), following the incident on Monday December 5.

The Met Police is appealing for witnesses to come forward after Salim was found suffering a gun shot wound to the head, sat in the front passenger seat of a parked car.

He had stopped for something to eat at Jerky Chicken restaurant in Walham Grove with friends but as the returned to the car, he was shot by a lone gunman who the police believe "had been lying in wait" .

Detective Chief Inspector Noel McHugh, from the Homicide and Major Crime Command, who is leading the investigation, said: "At this stage in our investigation we are keeping an open mind regarding motive and will be trying to establish the victim's precise movements in the day running up to his murder.

"This is a low crime area. Salim's murder has shocked the local community.

"There is a strong neighbourly spirit in the area and I would encourage the very vigilant local community to contact police with anything that they saw during and after the attack."

Chief Inspector McHugh continued: "The person responsible had most likely been lying in wait for him to leave the restaurant.

"North End Road and Walham Grove would have been busy at that time of night.

"Did you see someone hanging around the area from about 20.30 that night, or running away from about 21.30?

"We know that he ran off along Walham Grove towards the Harwood Arms. Did you see where he went after this?
