The scene of the shooting in Fulham on Monday, December 5

She told getwestlondon : “I saw loads of loads of ambulance and police driving up and saw they were all sopping near where I walk home, as it’s the route I walk everyday to take my son to school and go see my mum.

“As I got to the crime scene I just saw loads of people and thought someone might have got run over as loads of cars speed and don’t really look at pedestrians.

"But to find out that someone got shot especially so close to my home is sickening.

"That poor person.”

Walham Grove at the junction with North End Road has been sealed off following the fatal shooting on Monday (December 5). Police say a gunman was likely to have been lying in wait

Detectives believe that the victim had been eating with a friend at a fast food restaurant in Walham Grove.

The pair are thought to have then returned to a silver and black Renault Captur, which was parked near to the junction of North End Road and police believe the victim was then shot as he was getting into the car.

Leader of the investigation, detective chief inspector, Noel McHugh, has said: "It would appear that the murderer had been waiting in the street in Walham Grove for a while for the friends to return to their car."

Police are also appealing for any road users who may hold vital material.

Mr McHugh said: "I am directly appealing to any cyclists or drivers who were in Walham Grove or North End Road from 8.30pm who may have captured images on their own cameras.

"This material could have captured something that may prove significant, so please get in touch with us and share your footage.

"At this stage in our investigation we are keeping an open mind regarding motive and will be trying to establish the victim's precise movements in the days running up to his murder.

"Officers have been working through the night to carry out house-to-house enquiries and capture any CCTV.

"North End Road and Walham Grove would have been busy at that time of night.

"I would like to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard something that could help us catch the person responsible for this murder."

Police are asking anyone with any information to contact the incident room on 020 8785 8099, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
