1. Woman battered and bruised after mugging

Danielle Payne was left covered in bruises after robbers tried to snatch her handbag

Robbers punched and threw a woman to the ground for £4 in a terrifying late night attack in Hounslow.

Danielle Payne, 21, received multiple wounds after she was set upon by two men in Martindale Road, who attempted to snatch her handbag but instead grabbed her purse with loose cash in it.

She had left a cab and was walking home after an evening out when the attack took place at 2.31am on Friday September 8.

Miss Payne said: "I was punched various times, pulled into a lamppost and knocked to the floor twice, I suffered numerous injuries as well as having my purse stolen.

"You never think things like this will happen to you, I thought the same, but it happened to me so it could happen to you."

2. Freddy Krueger-style glove dumped in knife bin

It was something from a horror movie when officers pulled out this Freddy Krueger-style glove from a knife bin.

The absolutely terrifying metal-looking glove has four sharp, curved knives on each finger, inspired by horror movie Nightmare on Elm Street.

The weapon was found in the knife bin at Uxbridge Police station in Warwick Place.

3. New Jane Austen £10 note worth thousands

Next time you find yourself with a new £10 note in your hands it might be worth taking a closer look.

The new Jane Austin note could be worth more than £3,000 but only if it has a serial number starting with AH, proving to be a favourite among collectors according to Mirror Online.

The new note features a portrait of author Jane Austen

Recently on eBay a special new £10 note with the AH prefix combined with 1775 - the year Jane Austen was born - sold for a whopping £3,600.

Other notes which could fetch you some extra cash include JA01, they're Austen's initials; JA75, because that's Austen’s birth year; and JA17, the year of the author's death.

4. West London Orbital Railway 'stands good a chance of becoming a reality'

A new orbital railway line connecting north and west London has one step closer to becoming a reality.

Plans for the West London Orbital Railway would see one line run from West Hampstead to Hounslow and another running from Hendon to Isleworth via Brent Cross.

The proposals were approved by the West London Economic Prosperity Board, on September 21.

Brent councillor and West London Orbital Railway campaigner, Lia Colacicco, said: "I had to pinch myself – I have spent eight years campaigning for the West London Orbital Railway, and now it actually stands a good chance of becoming a reality.

"The feasibility study commissioned shows that the new line will provide excellent value for money, and link regeneration sites at Wembley, Park Royal and Brent Cross."

The route is due to be completed in 2029.

5. Picture shows aftermath of Hanwell collision

A motorcycle and car were badly damaged in a collision yesterday

A shocking image of a motorcycle flipped on its side in a crash involving a car gripped readers.

In the picture debris from the badly damaged red motorcycle can be seen strewn across Greenford Avenue.

Luckily there were no injuries in the aftermath of the collision in Hanwell on Monday (September 25).

No arrests have been made following the incident.
