A young woman has revealed her multiple injuries after a pair of robbers punched her and threw her to the floor to steal just £4 cash.

Danielle Payne, 21, was walking home with a pal after an evening out when she was struck by two men in Martindale Road, Hounslow .

The pre-school worker had left a cab with her friend at 2.31am on Friday September 8, and started to walk her to her house when she was suddenly attacked.

Two "young" men, possibly aged in their 20s, tried to snatch Danielle's handbag but failed, so they pulled her to the ground instead and grabbed her purse, containing just £4 cash.

She said: "I was punched various times, pulled into a lamppost and knocked to the floor twice, I suffered numerous injuries as well as having my purse stolen.

"Attacking and robbing people is one thing, but men attacking and robbing women is even more disgusting.

"You never think things like this will happen to you, I thought the same, but it happened to me so it could happen to you."

Danielle Payne was left covered in bruises after the incident

Danielle's purse, containing her Barclays Bank card, driving licence, Superdrug points card, some receipts and £4 in change were taken, as well as well her friends' new rose gold iPhone 7.

The robbers allegedly made a getaway in a silver car, which was parked outside The Honeycombe pub, near Staines Road.

21-year-old Danielle put out a plea on Facebook asking for witnesses to come forward

In a bid to catch the attackers, Danielle posted pictures of her injuries on Facebook , adding: "Please if you have heard or know anything contact me straight away, please share and be careful whilst out."

Metropolitan Police confirmed it was called at around 2.38am on September 8 to reports of a robbery, but no arrests have yet been made.

A spokesman for the force said: "The female victims - one aged in her 20s, the other in her 30s - were walking along the street when two unknown suspects approached them from behind and stole a purse and mobile phone.

"During the incident one of the victims was injured. She did not require hospital treatment.

"The suspects made off in a silver car towards Staines Road.

"Detectives from Hounslow CID are investigating."
