Officers investigating the death of Joseph Olopo in Brent Cross have made two further arrests and charged one person with murder.

Jason De Sousa will appear at Hendon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (February 23) after he was charged with murder on the same day.

The 21-year-old, of no fixed abode, had been arrested a day earlier (February 22).

Mr Olopo, 21, died from a stab wound to his neck following reports of a fight in Heathfield Gardens on Friday (February 17).

Emergency services were called to the scene at 7.15pm and took the victim to hospital but he died a short while later.

A 20-year-old has also been arrested of suspicion of violent disorder on Tuesday (February 21), and bailed pending further enquires to a date in early March.

The latest arrests come after two males, aged 20 and 17, were arrested near to the scene on suspicion of affray.

The older of the two was later released on bail until a date in early March, while the teenager was released without charge.
