An alarming number of violent and sexual crimes were reported in just one month in the borough of Hounslow .

The latest figures available, for June 2017, revealed there were an astonishing 641 cases of violence and sexual offences reported - or on average 21 committed a day on the borough's streets.

A deeper look into the locations of these crimes unveiled a number of "hotspots" for this type of crime.

If we take look at the least violent areas first, if you live in one of the Chiswick wards or Hounslow South then there is some level of comforting news for you.

In Chiswick Homefields area there were 10 reported cases for the month; Hounslow South 11; and Chiswick Riverside 13.

Other areas with 20 or less sexual or violent crimes were recorded in Turnham Green (19) and Hanworth Park (20), making up the bottom five.

However you might be more concerned if you live in any other part of the borough.

The violent/sexual category, as stipulated by the Home Office, includes offences against the person such as common assaults, grievous bodily harm and sexual offences.

Here are the 10 worst neighbourhoods to live in Hounslow when it comes to violent or sexual crimes.

Syon - 57 violent/sexual crimes

The most dangerous area for violent/sexual crimes in the borough was the Syon police ward.

With nearly two incidents reported every day, there were 57 sexual/violent crimes reported in June.

Twickenham Road led the way, with 13 violent/sexual crimes reported for the month.

The ward recorded a total of 186 crimes in all categories, with sexual/violent (57), anti social behaviour (39) and vehicle crimes (26), making up two thirds of reported criminal activity in Syon.

Hounslow Heath - 44 violent/sexual crimes

The Hounslow Heath area reported the second highest violent/sexual crime rate in the borough.

Four crimes were reported in Parkside Road, and three each in Granville Avenue and Wellington Road South.

The Esso petrol station on Staines Road, near Midsummer Avenue, also showed up as a hotspot in this ward.

In June 2017 there were 137 crimes reported in this neighbourhood, with anti social behavior crimes seeing 43 recorded cases.

Brentford - 43 violent/sexual crimes

Just creeping in as the third worst area for violent/sexual crimes is the Brentford police ward, with 43 reported incidents in June.

At least seven crimes were reported in or near shopping areas in Ealing Road and in Windmill Road near the Old Electrical Works Reynard Mills Business Park.

Brook Lane North was also a hotspot with three recorded cases, while there were four incidents reported in pedestrian subways in the ward.

In total there were 207 crimes from all categories, with anti social behaviour and vehicle crime completing the three biggest types of crime in the area.

Hounslow Town Centre - 42 violent/sexual crimes

Multiple hotspots were recorded near the Treaty Centre in Douglas Road where four crimes were reported, followed by three near the bus and coach station.

Bell Road was a hotspot with a total of six violent/sexual crimes reported in the road.

In total there were 216 crimes reported in the month of June in and around the town centre.

The only crime higher than violent/sexual offences was anti social behaviour, at 52 reported incidents.

Feltham West - 40 violent/sexual crimes

The violent/sexual crime hotspot in the Feltham West police ward was near the parking area close to the Travelodge Hotel in High Street, Feltham .

There were five crimes recorded in this area, making it the most unsafe, in the month of June.

There were three cases each reported in Cravan Avenue and Eastleigh Way.

The ward saw 145 crimes reported in total over the 30-day period, of which 40 were violent/sexual.

Hounslow West - 38 violent/sexual crimes

A staggering nine violent/sexual crimes were reported in Strafford Road, just minutes away from the best school in west London, St Mark's Catholic School .

The high level of recorded crime makes it the most dangerous street in the borough in June.

Bulstrode Road and Steve Biko Way were the second worst in the Hounslow West ward with three crimes reported each.

In total the police ward had 141 crimes reported, with anti social behaviour recorded as the second highest after violent/sexual crimes.

Cranford - 38 violent/sexual crimes

In joint sixth position was the Cranford police ward where, of the total 117 reported crimes, nearly a third were of a violent/sexual nature.

The crime hotspots in this area were neighbouring residential streets Marmot Road and Basildene Road, where there were five, and four incidents, respectively.

Hanworth - 36 violent/sexual crimes

A third of of crimes in this neighbourhood were recorded as violent or sexual.

There were three incidents reported in each of Dickenson Road, Mccarthy Road and New Close in June.

Overall there were 109 crimes reported in the Hanworth police ward, with vehicle crime and anti social behaviour incidents making up another third of criminal activity.

Hounslow Central - 33 violent/sexual crimes

In the Hounslow Central ward violent and sexual crimes also made up a third of the overall crimes in the area in June.

With four reported incidents each in Brookwood Road and Honnor Gardens, these were the most dangerous in this ward.

There were also two incidents recorded near Hounslow East underground station in or near the parking area.

In total there were 99 crimes reported, with violent/sexual (33) and anti social behaviour (23) together making up more than half of the crimes.

Bedfont - 31 violent/sexual crimes

Southville Close recorded the highest number of violent/sexual crimes in the Bedfont police ward, with four incidents in June.

Other hotspot areas where there were at least two incidents recorded included in the area of the Tesco Express on Staines Road and Hatton Road near Marjory Kinnon School.

There were a total of 115 crimes in this ward in the month of June.

Heston East - 30 violent/sexual crimes

Completing the top 10 worst neighbourhoods in the borough for reported violent/sexual crimes was the area of Heston East.

Here there were 116 recorded crimes in total, of which 30 were of a violent or sexual nature.

In this police ward there were clear crime hotspots, with three incidents each recorded in Lampton Park, Lampton Road, Heston Road and Fern Lane.

And nearly half the crimes reported in Heston East were violent/sexual or anti social behaviour.
