The A4 Great West Road in Hounslow has reopened following a collision involving a motorbike and a car at the junction with Jersey Road.

Both the Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service (LAS) attended the incident during rush hour on Monday (May 22), as a result of which, a motorbike rider was taken to hospital.

A spokesman from LAS told getwestlondon : "We were called today at 17:21 to reports of a road traffic collision on Great West Road.

"We sent a number of resources to the scene including ambulance crews and an incident response officer, with the first of our medics arriving in just over two minutes.

"We treated a male for injuries and took him to hospital as a priority."

The Metropolitan Police, which was called to the scene at around 5.30pm, confirmed it was a car in collision with a motorbike.

The road was closed for several hours, causing long queues of traffic back to Henlys Roundabout in Hounslow.

Posting on Twitter at 9pm on Monday (May 22), Transport for London (TfL) announced the reopening of the road.
