The A4 Great West Road is closed at the junction of Jersey Road in Hounslow following a collision between a car and a motorbike.
A spokesman from the Met Police told getwestlondon : "Police were called to the scene at approximately 5.30pm."
Adding: "Officers, air ambulance and LAS all attended and the male rider has gone to a central London hospital."
Transport for London (TfL) is warning of slow traffic on approach to the Jersey Road junction.

London Ambulance Service called to scene at 5.21pm
A spokesman from London Ambulance Service confirmed London’s Air Ambulance did not attend the scene.
Speaking to getwestlondon, they said:
We were called today at 17:21 to reports of a road traffic collision on Great West Road.
We sent a number of resources to the scene including ambulance crews and an incident response officer, with the first of our medics arriving in just over two minutes.
We treated a male for injuries and took him to hospital as a priority.
Traffic is queuing back to Henlys Roundabout
On their website, Transport for London (TfL) say:
Traffic is slow on approach with queues back to Henlys Roundabout.
Heston Road and Lampton Road are also slow moving on approach to the closure.
