A wall of memories from the Wembley Stadium area is being created and local people are being invited to get involved.

The 40-metre Wembley Moments Wall will be made up of sections lining Olympic Way – the world-famous route from Wembley Park Underground to Wembley Stadium – and will form a colourful and insightful journey through the history of this famous part of Brent.

getwestlondon and Harrow Observer readers are invited to share their memories, ranging from large scale gigs or sporting events at the arena or stadium to fond personal memories, and the best ones will be selected to appear on the wall.

Perhaps you remember the Empire Pool and 1948 Olympics, saw something special at Fountain Studios or just have a fond memory of something that happened in your personal life in the area in and around Wembley Park.

The competition is being run by Wembley Park in association with Wembley Stadium, Wembley Arena, the Harrow and Wembley Observer and Brent Council. The closing date for entries is Thursday, October 17, 2013.

Wembley Park is the development scheme from Quintain that is transforming the 85-acre (34 hectare) area around Wembley Stadium, bringing new shopping, leisure facilities, homes and public spaces. The development’s next milestone will be the opening of the London Designer Outlet on Thursday, October 24, which is the first designer outlet inside the M25 and will feature 70 shops, 15 restaurants and cafes and a nine-screen Cineworld complex.

James Saunders, Chief Operating Officer at Quintain said: “Animating the environment and public spaces is very important to us at Wembley Park as we bring new shopping, leisure facilities and homes to the area making this an exciting place to live and spend time. While the development has an exciting future , we want to embrace Wembley's richhistory and heritage and we look forward to decorating Olympic Way with peoples memories."
