A staggering £115,000 was raised by the thousands of women, girls, and a few dogs too, who took part in Hillingdon's Race for Life.

The fund raiser for Cancer Research UK saw families turn out in the heat on June 8 to support the walkers, joggers and runners as they completed a 5K at Hillingdon Sports and Leisure ground in Gatting Way, Uxbridge.

After a few fun warm-up work outs it was time for the race to begin with grandmothers, daughters and even a few babies in buggies, finishing the route and gaining their well earned Race for Life medal.

More than 1,500 people were registered to take part and had raised over £115,000 to help the charity fund its vital research into trialling medicine to find a cure for all types of cancer.
