Race for Life returns in June and this year it is hoped thousands of women will take part to raise a massive £300,000.

Runners in the borough were not far off last year, with 3,722 people raising £277,384 for Cancer Research UK.

As it is Valentine's Day, organisers are making a heartfelt invitation urging more women from across the borough to join the race at Hillingdon Sports and Leisure Complex on June 8.

Everyone in the family can take part; mums, grans, sisters, aunts, daughters and friends can walk, jog or run to join the army of passionate women determined to take on cancer.

Felicity Stevens, Cancer Research UK’s Hillingdon events manager, said: “Valentine’s Day is a great opportunity to spend time with the people we love and for that reason it’s also the perfect date to enter Race for Life.

“Taking part in Race for Life and raising money for life-saving research will help more men, women and children survive cancer so they can go on to spend more precious moments with their loved ones,” she said.
