Young entrepreneurs organised a music show at their school to raise money for Michael Sobell Hospice.

Students at Ruislip High School in Sidmouth Drive, South Ruislip, which today became an academy, organised R-Fest, the school’s first music festival, as part of their Young Entrepreneur after-school club.

R-Fest was organised as part of a Max the Cash scheme, which saw Basepoint Business Centre in Field End Road, Eastcote, provide £375 to sponsor the event.

The centre also matched the amount of money raised on the night, which is still being counted and will go to the hospice at Mount Vernon Hospital in Rickmansworth Road, Northwood.

Performances came from students John Boundy, Arran Ladaw and Daniel O’Gorman and finished with Sarah Stapleton and Ella Zelewska giving a unique tribute to 70s band Abba encouraging the audience to sing along.

Cherie Ward, a student in Year 13 said: “It’s the most fun I’ve had in ages.”
