The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting their second child, Clarence House has announced.

Prince William and Kate, whose London residence is Kensington Palace, said they were ‘very pleased to announce’ she is pregnant with the fourth-in-line to the throne.

The Queen and members of both the Royal family and Kate’s family are said to be ‘delighted with the news’.

However the Duchess is suffering from the severe morning sickness, Hyperemesis Gravidarum, which she suffered from while pregnant with Prince George who was born in July last year.

She is being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace and it was announced she will no longer accompany Prince William on their planned engagement in Oxford today.

Prime Minister David Cameron released a statement just moments after the announcement. He said: “Many congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. I’m delighted by the happy news that they’re expecting another baby.”
