An Ealing primary school have postponed a school trip to Westminster because of fears the London underground is unsafe following the Paris attacks.

Year 6 pupils from Vicar's Green Primary School, Lily Gardens, Middlesex, were due to travel to the Parliamentary Education Centre in Westminster on December 1.

But the school have pulled the plug on travelling on the tube following the terrorist attack in Paris on November 13, when suicide bombers and gunmen killed 130 people.

Headteacher Mary Sergides said the decision was made due to "heightened security" in London following the attacks.

She added: "We have decided to postpone the Year 6 trip to the parliamentary education centre because of heightened security in London following the recent tragic events in Paris.

"We hope to re-schedule it next year."
