British singer songwriter Phil Collins has been announced as a headline act for next year's British Summer Time festival in Hyde Park .

The Genesis drummer and frontman will headline the festival on Friday June 30, 2017, performing his best-known hits.

Following American rock band Green Day signing up as the first headliners for the music event, Barclaycard said they were "thrilled" to reveal that Phil Collins joins the line up.

He said: "I will be playing all of the songs that people love."

The performance at the festival will be his only UK and European festival performance of 2017.

The news follows the announcement last month that Collins is coming out of retirement for his first live shows in 10 years.

The mischievously named Not Dead Yet: Live tour will feature five shows at the Royal Albert Hall in South Kensington in June 2017, before the festival headline slot.
