Cheeky comic Lee Nelson is promising some 'qualiteeee' entertainment when he performs in Hayes next week.

Infamous 'laddish' character Lee Nelson will be bringing some "proper stand up" to the Beck Theatre on Monday April 6.

He has become a household name through appearances on BBC Three, Live at the Apollo, and many other stand-up shows.

His new Suited & Booted tour sees the same character suit-up and engage with life outside his estate; talking politics, religion and immigration.

Nelson, whose real name is Simon Brodkin, told Get West London: “The show's great - the best so far without doubt. I've given all my shorts and my cap to charity and got down to Topman. I found a really nice suit... and then ran off with it.

“I've upped my game a bit, grown up a bit, got suited and booted. It feels about time, it feels right. There's a new look for a new outlook.

“I can describe the tour in one word: fresh. I want it to be great for people of all ages, old people, young people... gingers.”

The comedian describes his political interests; in character as Lee Nelson, Brodkin briefly stood as a candidate in the South Shields by-election in 2013.

Now it seems the comic is looking to return to that field once more, describing his desire to become prime minister!

“When I heard David Cameron left his kids in the pub on their own, I thought, there's a prime minister I can get on board with," adds Nelson.

"I could be prime minister. Boris Johnson would be my rival. I've done my research”

The show has been so popular, he's added 27 dates to his original tour, and the comic will now be coming to Hayes as one of the dates.

I ask, what makes this tour so special?

He replies: “It is about being funny. It is a really fun tour, just two hours of proper stand-up.”

About his upcoming show at Hayes Beck Theatre, Nelson said: “I like smaller, local venues. It is packed out and much closer, so there's a great vibe.

"Comedy's all about that, it is intimate. The Hayes Theatre are lucky legends!”
