The event has moved to the grounds of Vyners School in Warren Road, Ickenham after long-running negotiations with the agents of Swakeleys House proved fruitless.

The weather forecast for the day is good and the programme is as follows:

  • 10am - Exhibitors admitted to Gala field
  • 10am -12:30 - Gala Setup in Vyners School grounds
  • 11:30am - Procession assembles at Milton Court
  • 12:30pm - The Mayor of Hillingdon, bands, walkers and vehicles make their way via Long Lane, Swakleys Road, Ivyhouse Rd and Swakleys park.
  • 1pm Gala Day in Vyners School Grounds (80+  local groups), Fairground rides
  • 5pm Gala Day ends.
  • 7:45pm Evening Concert outdoors at Vyners School Grounds with Vyners Swing Band, "Fat Busted" Covers Band  and Fireworks.
  • 10:30pm - Gala ends

The gala day and concert are part of the ‘larger’ Ickenham Festival which happens every other year, and have been a focal point of the week-long event since 1976.

Speaking in May when Vyners School was announced as the new venue , Doug Neilson of the organising committee, said: "We are very thankful for the rapid response by headteacher James Heale at Vyners School, and his governors. These grounds are only one third of a mile from Swakeleys House."

Mr Neilson said discussions will continue about a return to Swakeleys House next year.
