What would win in a race - beast or machine?

Well, a team over at Chestertons Polo in the Park has found out by pitting a horse against horsepower ahead of the big weekend later this month.

In an answer to a debate that has fuelled many an argument, a polo pony raced a high powered McLaren sports car to discover whether nature or technology is faster.

The contest took place just weeks before the big polo tournament in Fulham on Friday June 9, Saturday 10 and Sunday June 11.

McLaren senior driver coach, Euan Hankey, also swapped horsepower for the day with England polo player and La Martina ambassador, George Meyrick, at the famous Top Gear track in Dunsfold.

The hilarious video sees the pair test out different horsepowers - and they both look equally uncomfortable when far out of their comfort zones.

George will be sticking to what he knows best - polo - when he returns to Hurlingham Park on June 9.

He will be representing ICM Capital Team England as they take on the Champions League Polo team from India.

The event is set to be a sell-out, so buy your tickets online here .

And if you're a fan of sports cars, McLaren Automotive will be at the event for you to check out their stunning cars.
