The cream of the entertainment crop in the borough showed off their variety of skills at the weekend’s Hillingdon’s Got Talent.

Entertainers ranging from dancers and singers to comedians and hoola-hoopers took to the stage at the Compass Theatre, in Ickenham, on Sunday (February 15) to wow judges and show off their skills.

Eighteen acts performed and impressed the judging, who consisted of councillor Judy Kelly, dancer Lakesha Cammock, music journalist and DJ Hughie Dixon and theatre expert and local arts charity trustee Sylvie Taylor.

The audience at the Glebe Avenue theatre were entertained throughout in an evening that showcased the best entertainment talent around in the borough.

The overall winner of the competition was Ethan Beer, who will now receive a music video produced and directed by Talking Pictures (UK) Ltd, a company that produces video programmes including drama, music and live multimedia installations and is based at the Compass Theatre.

In the Groups section, first prize went to Passion Dance - a group of three contemporary dancers who performed a piece about the mystical power of witches. Two-girl acoustic band Sgt Down were placed second and a pair of hula-hooping sisters were third

Over 18s individuals winners were RnB singer songwriter Chiara in first, folk singer Hannah Wiltshire in second and comedy folk singer Jeff White in third.

Under 18s individuals winner was singer-songwriter Ethan Beer, second was Pranavi who performed a classical Indian dance solo, and third went to classical singer Natasha.

The most unusual talent award went to Keeley Garner for her Arabian dance.

Charlotte Baldwin, arts officer at the council and organiser of the event, said: “There was a good mixture of arts on display, and some quirky acts which is always good.

“It was a very busy evening, tickets were sold out and I think it went really well.”
