Nothing quite beats a Bank Holiday Monday.

Who can resist breaking into a foolish grin at the prospect of a long weekend followed by a short week brings joy to millions.

We enjoyed one such splendid day on Monday (May 1), with the May Day Bank Holiday, which falls on the first Monday of the month.

And the good news is we don’t have to wait too long for the next one.

That will fall on May 29, the last Monday of the month, which also kicks off the school holidays that runs the whole of that week (May 29-June 2).

That means if you’re lucky enough to be off , there are only three Mondays you’ll have to work in May.

Following May’s bank holidays, we’ve got one more in summer to look forward to - on August 28 - when thousands will be thronging through the streets of Notting Hill and enjoying the annual carnival .

The final two bank holidays of 2018 fall at the end of the year, on Christmas and Boxing Days.

Enjoy!
