Keen runners can sign up to a race with a twist as this year's #Colourdash opens for entries.

On Wednesday May 25 at 2pm, Brunel University London will be hosting the running event in aid of Michael Sobell Hospice , as part of the university's 50th anniversary Brunel Festival.

Participants can choose to walk, run or dance around the 5km route in a festival-like atmosphere. Entrants donning white T-shirts can expect to be pelted head-to-toe with multi-coloured powder at various colour stations along the route.

Entry costs £13 for adults and £10 for students and 11 to 17-year-olds. Registration cost includes a runner's T-shirt and pair of colourful sunglasses.

Michael Sobell Hospice events and community fundraising manager, Ophelia Chambers-Henry, said: "We thank Brunel University, London, for organising the event and for the wonderful team of student volunteers who are helping to make #ColourDash 2016 possible.

"We are aiming to turn all our colour dashers into a multi-coloured rainbow before they cross the finish line! All the money raised from the event will help towards caring for patients at Michael Sobell Hospice."

Michael Sobell House is a hospice and specialist palliative care centre at Mount Vernon Hospital in Northwood .
