The organisers have confirmed that the Ealing Mini Mile is now sold out and they are expecting 400 youngsters on the start line.

The Ealing Mini Mile starts at 9.15 am on Ealing Half Marathon race day (Sunday 28th September) and is open to young runners aged 6– 16 who will be covering a one mile route around Ealing’s Lammas Park. The two age categories are 6-11 and 12-16 years, and the young runners will start in waves with the 12-16 year olds heading off first.

ASICS are sponsoring the Mini Mile prizes and will supply £60 prize vouchers for the fastest boy and the fastest girl in each age category. The organisers have been working closely with the local schools to raise awareness of the Ealing Mini Mile and to encourage young runners of all levels and all abilities to take part and to experience the inspirational atmosphere on race day.

Last year also saw many entries from junior members of the local athletics clubs as well as offspring of the Ealing Half Marathon runners who will be in the park to cheer on their Mum or Dad.

Charlotte Buckley from Thames Valley Harriers won the inaugural Ealing Mini Mile in 2013, storming to overall victory in a time of 00:05:43. Oscar Jones from Clifton Lodge School was the fastest boy in 00:06:29.

Good luck to all the young runners!
