The annual Ealing Half Marathon is back for another year, this year taking place on Sunday September 27 at 9am.

The 13.1-mile course starts and finishes in Lammas Park, and is a single lap through Central Ealing, Montpelier, Pitshanger, West Ealing, Hanwell and St Stephen's.

The Ealing Half Marathon is one of only three fully road closed half marathons in London, and in 2014 and 2015 was voted best Half Marathon in the UK.

But if you want to take part, you had better hurry! There are just a few places remaining for the 2015 race out of the 7,000 available, and organisers are urging anyone who wants to take part to sign up as soon as possible.

Registration is currently still open, with entry fees of £34 for affiliated runners and £36 for unaffiliated runners. The Ealing mini-mile (a one-mile course for children aged 6 to 16) is now sold out.

All finishers receive a distinctive medal and an online e-goody bag after the race.

Event co-ordinator, Sandra Courtney, said: "The Ealing Half Marathon is fast approaching its sell out and the last few places are being snapped up quickly. The race is a firm fixture in the autumn running calendar and brings runners of all levels to our borough, with thousands of pounds raised for many different charities.

"We would like to encourage local businesses and residents to actively support the event and cheer on the runners, giving participants from near and far a warm welcome and a fantastic race experience so that we can defend our title as UK’s Best Half Marathon at The Running Awards next year!"

2014's race saw 7,000 runners and around a 30,000-strong crowd of locals come along and take part or cheer on, to raise money for Alzheimer's Society. Organisers are expecting a record-breaking year as the race continues to grow in both size and popularity.
