Bentley Priory Museum’s programme of activities and events to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain continue in October with a series of Friday morning talks and a hands-on Vintage Hair Workshop.

On Friday October 16, the talk will focus on the history of the Royal Observer Corps, including their pivotal role during the Battle of Britain as the eyes and the ears of the RAF.

The last talk on Friday October 23 will explore ‘Britain’s Finest Hour’ – based on research from original WWII documents, this talk will explain how the people and technology of Fighter Command were able to detect, track and successfully intercept the attack of the Luftwaffe.

All the talks are on Friday mornings, 11am to 12pm, and are included in Museum admission, or a £3 suggested donation, with no pre-booking required.

On Saturday October 24, the Museum will host a hands-on Vintage Hair Workshop, delivered by an experienced vintage hair stylist.

The workshop will show attendees how to create a 1940s Hollywood Glamour hair-style. Pre-booking by October 17 is essential. £25 for the workshop.

The ‘17,000 Reasons to Remember’ temporary exhibition, which highlights the stories of Polish Aircrew during World War II display dates have been extended until Saturday October 31, the date that is regarded as the last day of the Battle of Britain.
