Local artists are ready to showcase their studios to the public.

Across the first weekend of October, artists across west London will be throwing the doors open to their creative hubs for the fourth annual ArtWest Open studios.

Adults and children alike are welcome to come and converse with local artists, view their work and get inspired – all for free.

Across Brent and Hammersmith, participating artists on October 3 and 4 including painters, sculptors, printmakers and photographers, as well as workers in glass, ceramics, textiles, furniture and fashion cannot wait for your to pop in and hear what you think of their work.

ArtWest chair Caro Millington said: “Our artists do work throughout the year with local schools, and the Koestler Trust, in addition to the Open Studio weekend.

“It’s great that at a time when this part of London is facing huge changes – one of our studio buildings has been demolished since last year, and the whole area is facing redevelopment with plans to site the new High Speed Rail and Cross Rail station here – artists are still happy to engage with the community they are working in.

“They know that building links between working artists and local people and organisations can be a source of energy and stimulation for artists and public alike”.

Participating artists are in the following buildings:

  1. Acava, 17-19 Hythe Road, NW10 6RT
  2. Acme, 733 Harrow Road, NW10 5BQ
  3. GlassFusion Unit 1, Gateway Industrial Estate, Hythe Road, NW10 6UN
  4. Light Factory, 6 Scrubs Lane, NW1 6RB
  5. Studios Apex House, 23-25 Hythe Road, NW10 6RT
